| Hamilton is located in the east of Xinjiang, having high temperatures and little rain all year round, especially in summer and autumn. The average temperature there is about 35 degrees, possessing long light time. Plenty of light provides adequate sugar for dates, grapes and other crops, making them sweet and delicious. In addition, drought in the environment is beneficial for the growth of cotton, so farmers in Hamilton has always been planting cotton, dates, grapes and other crops, account for more than 90% of total crop acreage. Hami region is the main cotton producing areas in Xinjiang. Hami also has the red dates as the geographical indications of local agricultural products. At present the degree of Hami farmers’ willingness to replant dates has a big influence to the development and industrial safety of date industry and cotton industry. It will also affect the sales volume and profits of grape farmer. To grasp the farmers’ willingness and influencing factors of replanting fresh grapes has an important practical significance to carry out actively and effective policy guidance, to ensure the security of cotton industry, to protect the healthy development of the fresh grape industry, and protect farmers’ income. It is a subject worthy of research. In this paper, by looking into Xinjiang Statistical Yearbook, combing questionnaires and interviews, the investigator has collected the relevant data on replanting crops, analyzed the situation of Hami’s major crops(cotton, dates and table grapes) replanting. This paper expounds three main crops and the details of their costs, benefits, cost benefit ratio and the differences in other aspects. This paper analyzes the reasons of farmers tend to grow fresh grapes. The farmers’ willingness of replanting fresh grape and behavior of the switching characteristics are analyzed through descriptive analysis, using two elements regression model for empirical research on farmers’ willingness to fresh grape and influencing factors, and then put forward countermeasures and suggestions.Logistic two regression results show that: there are six factors affecting farmers replanting willingness, containing age of household, education level, family size, household income, resistant storage and the local government promotes its policy. Farmers’ educational degree and family size are the two variables which have a positive impact on their willingness to replant fresh grapes. Age of household, household income, resistant storage and whether the local government promotes its policy have negative effect on farmers’ replant willingness. Finally, the paper puts forward reasonable countermeasures and suggestions. |
