In the age of knowledge economy, knowledge resource of the organization members has replaced capital, and has become one of the most critical sources of core competence in an organization. Under the double drives of self-worth the members seek internally and on-going environment changing, there is a question which kind of organization structures could make the most use of the knowledge resource, and stimulate the innovation ability of organization members, with the general concern of theory and practice field.Recently, as a newest organization form, self-organization team attracts a wide spread attention, because of its flexibility to environment changing and innovation ability. However, there is few researches about the innovation mechanism of self-organization. While some self-organizations get good grades in practice, there also exist many failure cases. So, knowing which factor dives self-organization to keep innovation and how to transform this method to other innovation organization is an issue that needs to be addressed urgently.The research about the innovation mechanism of self-organization is very limited. The only relative research is to build a self-adaption organization model from the point of system dynamics, or learn about the conflict solving mechanism of self-organization with an emulational method. But these researches didn’t reveal the source of self-organization’s innovation ability, and are also difficult to take example by others. Some scholars focus on the influence of self-organization’s member characteristics on innovation ability with the aspect of organization behavior, and find that the common vision, the meaningful differences between members can help to explain the source of self-organization’s innovation ability.Thereinto, the relationship between the knowledge heterogeneity variety that represents the meaningful differences between members and innovation is still in dispute. At present, the academe thinks knowledge heterogeneity may lead to knowledge sharing or conflict. While the knowledge sharing could fulfill the internal resources of organization, which needs to be absorbed effectively to promote innovation ability directly, and the knowledge heterogeneity may trigger both benign and malignant knowledge conflict. We need to talk about which factor can stimulate benign knowledge conflict, and weaken malignant knowledge conflict at the back of chapter.In conclusion, this article will reference literature, and do empirical study, then explore the mechanism acting on how to improve the innovation ability of self-organization at the point of self-organization and knowledge heterogeneity, and talk about the source of self-organization’s innovation ability, then verify whether trust could lead to good interpersonal relationship to make the most use of high level of knowledge heterogeneity. At last, we will make a result and give some advice for teams to promote their innovation ability.
