Research On The Government Regulation Of Taxi Industry

With the development of our country economy and the improvement of people’s living standards,the public’s demand for travel tools also increased,taxi become more and more people’s travel mode.The development and growth of the taxi industry has made a positive contribution to improving the urban transportation system,promoting economic development and meeting the public travel.But also gradually exposed some problems:aggravated environmental pollution,driver and passenger’s contradictions increasing,harmed the public interest,etc.Therefore,the government needs to regulate it.At present,the taxi industry in our country mainly adopts quantity regulation, admittance regulation,price and service quality regulation,which have played a positive role in the protection of the healthy development of the industry,the protection of the public and the driver.But with the social,the technological development and some improper regulation’s accumulation,the conflict broke:taxi drivers rights are not protected, transport strike continues;trade order is not stable, "black car" appear frequently; government regulation failure, power seeking continues and so on.Therefore,the government how to effectively regulate the taxi industry become the focus of attention,and other local governments are constantly exploring and improving.Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province,which firstly reform the government regulation of the taxi industry.It takes the liberalization market access,the introducing of network technology,market pricing and other measures.The reform measures constantly improve according to the effect.This paper puts forward a number of improvement measures and supports recommendation to the rest of the taxi industry government regulation according to Yiwu’s reform.Improvement measures are: relaxation quantity regulation, improve price formation mechanism, strengthen the quality of service regulation, and to change the traditional regulation mode of thinking, fully use the Internet technology, play the positive role of industry association, improve the regulatory mechanism of the taxi industry, and enhance the legislation of the taxi industry as the supporting measures. We hope that through these measures can improve the poor status of the development of the taxi industry, to achieve the purpose that release the market vigor,maintain the healthy and orderly development of the taxi industry, better play the government’s service functions.
