The Research Of Package Material Pooling Management In Company B

For most manufacturing enterprises, surviving skill in fierce market competition does not only mean researching of new technology and new product, but also mean how to enhance the market share and cut down the existed cost. The stable market share and profit is the fundament of their future development.Well organized logistics management is one of the key factors of enterprises’ cost and market share competition. The logistics and supply chain cost normally takes up about 10% of total cost in manufacturing enterprises. The B Company, as a well-known global business giant, has already established many branches all over the world. Accompany with the globalization and integration of world’s economy, the logistics and supply chain management, especially the international management part is playing a more and more important role. Normally the package cost accounts more than 10% of B Company’s supply chain cost(which is 1% of total cost). The optimization and management of this part of cost has become the key target of B Company’s cost down measures.Pooling management(also called sharing management), could help enterprises to realize the material recycling and resource sharing. It could also utilize of public resources, realize the green economy and cost saving target. The researching purpose of this dissertation is about helping B Company to find out a solution of package material pooling management, and realize the target of logistics and supply chain cost optimization.By studying the foreign articles, also with the author’s working experiences, this dissertation starts from the current situation of B Company’s logistics and supply chains management, together with the related international trade situation. It analyzes the internal and external difficulties in company’s management of package material, find out the problems and potential improvement spaces. It also introduces each component of the international package material management solution, establish a systematic feasible solution package. This research offer different management solutions to different companies.At mean time, this dissertation takes one single case from B company which implemented in the USA as an example, describes the implementation procedures and achievement of the case. Finally, with the value chain analysis model, the dissertation evaluates the benefit which brought to the company in this single case.At the end, this dissertation predicts the development trend of current model, and states expectation of external environment.This dissertation theologically and practically proves that the package material pooling management could bring benefit to both companies and the society. The package material management concept should be introduced to the society.
