In recent years, as a new industry emerging on a global scale, the market size of cross-border e-commerce has grown fast. With the advance of "The Belt and Road" policy, the cross-border electricity suppliers in China have got a lot of opportunities to develop their business, which they could never have before. With the help of "The Belt and Road" policy, all of them try their best to join in the ranks of cross-border e-commerce, and continue exploring the business model innovation, in order to obtain a larger market share. Those also attracted a lot of attention in academia. After the systematic collection of research results from many senior researchers, I found that in the field of cross-border e-commerce, existing research mostly concentrated in some segments of the cross-border e-commerce, such as portal, logistics, warehousing and payment platforms, few conducting a comprehensive and systematic analysis on the innovation of business model of cross-border electricity activities. This results that when in face of new economic patterns emerging in the industry, the existing theoretical research can not well explain these new business models, and it is also difficult to provide valuable reference for the innovation of business model of cross-border electricity activities. Therefore, it is necessary to research the innovation of business model of cross-border electricity activities, in order to make up for the inadequacy of this research.This paper choose the cross-border electricity suppliers as the research object. The purpose is to reveal the path and direction of the innovation of business model of cross-border electricity activities, combined with relevant case studies, and strive to provide detailed and feasible guidance for the practice. First, related theories and research results of cross-border e-commerce, business model and business model innovation were dredged through the extensive collection and reference to the relevant literature. Secondly, by the using of standardized research method and based on the relevant theory, combined with the economic characteristics of cross-border e-commerce industry, I find the foundation of Chinese cross-border e-commerce business model innovation, which can help me further explore the path of Chinese cross-border e-commerce business model innovation. Finally, I choose two classic cases for analysis, making a further study on the business model innovation of cross-border electricity suppliers.From the theory and case research on cross-border electricity suppliers business model innovation, this paper draws five important conclusions:First, the academic research of cross-border e-commerce has removed from the definition, influence factors to the business model; Secondly, the concept of cross-border e-commerce in this paper is defined, and I further analysis the economic characteristics commonly found in the cross-border e-commerce industry, including the network effect, the long tail effect and the effect of scale economy. These economic characteristics are very important to the innovation of business model of cross-border electricity suppliers; Thirdly, combined with the theories of business model innovation, this paper defines the concept of business model innovation of cross-border electricity suppliers; Fourthly, according to the definition of business model innovation, the related theory and the economic characteristics of the cross-border e-commerce industry, this article in-depth analyzes the business model innovation path theory of cross-border e-commerce, put forward:1) should innovate customer value proposition of cross-border e-commerce from the long tail effect and the value curve; 2) should build enterprise value network architecture and customer value creation system according to the new customer value proposition; 3) should use network effects and scale economy effects as a guide, follow two paths:the third party income and "free" income to get the value of the enterprise; At last, based on the theoretical analysis, this paper selects two typical cross-border electricity suppliers to carry on the case analysis. And the result of analysis shows that in order to increase the income of the enterprise, cross-border electricity suppliers should continue to adjust the cost structure and expand the sources of income, so as to better promote their own development.
