The basic condition of a large population with relatively little land requiring China must go the road of sustainable development of land conservation and intensive utilization. The educational land is an important part of city construction land, researching the intensive use of educational land, will help ease the supply and the demand of urban land in the process of urbanization, promote urban construction land connotative intensive development, and also will conducive to the full realization of teaching and scientific research, social services and other functions if the educational land to be rational utilized.In this paper, based on the analyzing and summarizing domestic and foreign scholars about the connotation of the economical and intensive use of construction land, construction land saving and intensive use evaluation and the research progress on the basis of land for college education, combined with the connotation of intensive utilization of land for education in colleges and universities, to select indicators of intensive utilization of land for construction of college education evaluation system, using the multi-factor comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate the educational land intensive utilization of some typical colleges in Hangzhou city. Through the analysis about the present situation of Hangzhou land for college education and intensive utilization evaluation result analysis, summarized according to the problems of colleges and universities in the process of land use, and targeted policy suggestions are put forward. The research to promote the intensive utilization of land for education in colleges and universities, give full play to the teaching of scientific research, social services, such as the realization of basic functions is of great significance. The main conclusions are as follows:First, in this paper, evaluation index system of intensive utilization of land for college mainly from the land use degree, land use structure, land use intensity and land use benefits these four levels of selected 11 indicators to education land intensive utilization evaluation in colleges, the index system of colleges not only in the basic conditions of running a school and the school teaching functions in terms of the degree of land security considerations, the intensive utilization status of colleges as well as the social benefits of output full consideration. This can reflect comprehensive and objective of college education land intensive utilization.Second, through the Hangzhou university analysis of the present situation of land use and land intensive utilization, concluded that Hangzhou university general land exploitation degree, general land intensive utilization degree is higher, give full play to the teaching scientific research and social service function, but there also exist some unreasonable layout of colleges, the land area accounts for a large proportion of teaching; campus part remains unused land, land use potential can be dug; some colleges more extensive land use, etc.
