With the successfully IPO of Alibaba in the United States,the Alibaba became a large company which has valued $200 billion. The success of Alibaba reflects the rapid developing of electronic commerce. The rapid developing of electronic commerce has enlarge the number of distribution centers. Meanwhile, the higher salary of the logistic workers makes the improvement of AS/RS more important. As an indispensable carrier of the automated storage system, the stacking crane is of great significance to improve the efficiency of automated warehousing system. The multi-shuttle storage and retrieval machine will increase the number of cargo and decrease the in/out time of storage.The paper simulates the difference between the Ant Colony Clustering Algorithm and the Nearest Location Assignment Algorithm to optimize the location of storage area under the condition that machine could carry different number of cargo. From the Simulation results, the Ant Colony Clustering Algorithm is better than the Ant Colony Clustering Algorithm. Then we conclude that the Ant Colony Clustering Algorithm can improve the efficiency of automatic warehouse storage system.When the multi-shuttle storage and retrieval machine is in the condition of full power, the number of storage and retrieval cargo becomes an important indicator of efficiency of automatic warehouse storage system. The multi-shuttle storage and retrieval machine which carry more cargos will have higher price. However, in the view of economic, the six-shuttle storage and retrieval machine may not appropriate to every automatic warehouse storage system. It is taken for granted that different storage area has different length and width. Under the condition that the shape of storage area is certain, which type of multi-shuttle storage and retrieval machine shall we choose.
