The insurance industry in our country is still in the initial stage. With the introduction of<A number of Opinions on Accelerating the Development of Modern Insurance Services> in2014, the development of the insurance industry entered the fast lane. In the fierce market competition, there are more and more new companies emerging. The market competition is becoming increasingly fierce. Large insurance companies are transforming to large financial groups, to snatch all kinds of financial resources. Small and medium-sized insurance companies hope to take the path of specialization, intensification and differentiation of development, seeking a place in the market.T insurance company was established in early 2011, and the registered capital is 2 billion30 million RMB Yuan. T insurance company hopes to be sound managed and take the road of specialization and intensive development. T insurance company also hopes to gradually establish the core competitiveness in order to survive and develop in the fierce competition. In early 2014, T insurance company experienced three complete business years. T insurance company had a steady growth and good business momentum in the three years. However, T insurance company was set up lately, and the management foundation is weak. With the development of T insurance company, some contradictions and problems which need to be solved are gradually exposed. Mainly: First, because the management system and the operating mechanism are initially formed, in the actual operation of the process, some work in the division of responsibilities between the departments is not clear; Second, there are some problems in performance management system. Employees have a low recognition of the company’s performance appraisal system. The company has poor staff stability and high turnover rate. Third, with the expansion of the company’s business and the increase in the scope of management, the company’s existing performance management system cannot support the rapid development of the company. So, T insurance company needs a set of effective performance management solutions to solve the current problems.This paper starts with the research on the performance management of T insurance company. This paper further clarifies the current performance management issues through the way of interview. In this paper, the normative theoretical analysis method, empirical investigation and analysis method, qualitative and quantitative methods are used to study and analyze. In the course of the study, the writer collects the human resources data from the insurance industry and T insurance company. Combined with key performance indicators(KPI), balanced scorecard and 360 degree assessment method and other related theories, the writer carries on the countermeasure research and the optimized design to T insurance company’s performance management problems.At present, China’s small and medium-sized insurance companies are facing fierce competition. Changes in the external environment of competition, competitors change and competition pattern changes require small insurance company to continuously improve and optimize the performance management system according to the strategic objectives and their own developing stage. This paper hopes to inspire other insurance companies to carry outperformance management through the study of T insurance company’s performance management issues, to help other insurance companies to improve the performance management level and the core competitiveness of the company.
