Since the founding of our nation, many cities have been set and made adjustments of administrative divisions. Urban agglomerations become a major role in China’s participation in regional and international competition from 1990s. The governance of urban agglomerations is the key matter of its’development, and the matter of administrative barriers become more and more serious. In fact, administrative barriers are the result of adjustments of administrative divisions. To solve the matter of administrative barriers, we must carding the progress of cities’ adjustments of administrative divisions, clear its’ feature, and carry out targeted urban agglomerations governance. But the comparative study of the three eastern major urban agglomerations is lack, already study mainly focus on individual cases. When it comes to the urban agglomerations, already study seldom related to history issue. This paper features three major urban agglomerations to provide suggestions for urban agglomerations governance.The first chapter is introduction. Describe the basic background and main issues, summarize relevant research at home and abroad combing urban agglomeration adjustments of administrative divisons, establish the framework, range and research methods of this paper.The second chapter analyzes the papers about the administrative divisions of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei, the chronicles of cities, analyze regional feature and governance model with specific case.The third chapter cardings the progress of the adjustments of administrative divisions of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, summarize regional feature and governance model with specific case.The fourth chapter analyzes the historical reasons of the adjustments of administrative divisions, focus on the economic impact to this region.The fifth chapter compare its’ features and provides suggestions with its trends.The final chapter is about basic conclusion and prospects.
