The development of information technology not only drives the industrial transformation and upgrading, but also promotes the innovation of business model of the enterprise. Business model is a creation system based on the enterprise’s resource integration capacity with the internal and external stakeholders. But through the study of existing literature about business model, the research found that most of the objects of study about business model are emerging industries, such as e-commerce, social networking sets, online travel and other industries based on the developing internet background. Therefore, the study of traditional industries’ business model is less than the emerging ones. As the important traditional manufacturing industry in China, the textile and clothing industry is at the low end links of the global value chain, relaying on raw materials, labor and other resources to make a profit. With the rising cost of raw materials, labor and other managing costs, the textile and clothing industry of China is also facing the problem of industrial upgrading. Accordingly, researching on the impact of business model on the textile and clothing enterprise performance has important practical significance to promote business model innovation and to increase enterprise performance.This paper reviewed and sorted out the domestic and foreign scholars’ research on business model, then selected the perspective of value chain. The article has built the business model framework of textile and clothing according to three dimensions of value proposition, value creation and delivery, value realization. And under the framework, the paper classified the business models, selected data about 34 listed companies of textile and clothing industry, using the method of one way analysis of variance to study the influence of the differences between business models on the performance of enterprises, and via principal component analysis to estimate and analyze on the performance of 11 different business models synthetically.The results show that different business models can lead different enterprise performance. Specifically, business model has the most significant impact on growth capacity of textile and clothing enterprise, the impact on operation capacity and profitability followed, and the impact on market value is weakest. Among 11 business models, there are 3 models have higher comprehensive scores and top rankings than others, respectively is “domestic leading-brand management-online intermediary-quality marketing”, “mass oriented- domestic leading-brand management-online intermediary- low price strategy ”, “focusing- domestic leading- Integrated management- Online intermediary and online self- quality marketing”. Last, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions for textile and clothing enterprise to make business model innovation and promote performance according to the research results.
