China’s current economy is at the time of transformation, from investment-driven to consumption-driven model. As tertiary industry and urbanization are developing quickly, there are many chances in catering. But, at the same time, there also are some facts that profit of catering is less and less, and this condition will persist in a long time. Faced such a fierce competition, all kinds of catering business should improve themselves and organize differentiated competitive advantages.Shijing life restaurant, located in Chengdu width of the alley, is a integrated services body of teahouse, restaurant and Sichuan native culture performances. As Serious homogenization, Shijing life restaurant is in the fierce competitive environment, it is important to improve itself and became differentiated competitive advantages. But there are many problems in service, promotion, human resource and cost control, which we should solve them timely.Based on the current research, background of research questions and significance of this study are proposed. Next, The macro environment,competitive environment faced by Shijing life restaurant and internal strengths and weaknesses are analyzed respectively. And then it introduces Shijing life restaurant’s operating status and it’s problem in service, marketing, human resource management and cost control. Shijing life restaurant’s main service problems are the lake of service sense, service standards; The main marketing problem are the single marketing channel, paying no attention to establishing and maintaining long-term customer relationships; The lake of service personnel, imperfect performance appraisal system, high turnover rate, low staff motivation are the key human resource management problems; Non-standard shopping list, shortage of goods are usually happen in cost control.On the basis of the problem analysis about proposed questions, service improvement strategies, marketing strategies, human resource management strategies and cost control strategies are introduced, and finally a summary and shortcomings of the article, future research directions are proposed.This study will help Shijing life restaurant and similar restaurants improve their management level, also enrich the theory about the restaurant management.
