Today, the new generation of migrant workers have becomed the main force in urbanization and industrialization process, having a significant influence on the stability and development of the society. However, due to their own low cultural quality, lack of professional skills, they’re engaged in high-intensity physical work in the service sector, manufacturing, construction and other industries, which have long-time working, low wages and poor working conditions, reducing their occupational safety level and leading them the most serious injuried group.Paying attention to the new generation of migrant workers’ occupational safety cognition and behavior, is not only helpful to improve occupational safety of the new generation of migrant workers, but also has great significance for the economic development and social progress in China.According to the related theories in management, safety behavior and cognitive psychology, this paper built a theoretical model for the article. And this paper studies which factors affect the new generation of migrant workers’ occupational safety cognition through a questionnaire survey, explores how they influence occupational safety behavior through occupational safety cognition; Based on the findings, this paper proposed that to improve occupational safety of the generation of migrant workers, we must improve the level of new generation of migrant workers’ occupational safety cognition, making them really be aware of the seriousness of safety issues. So this paper proposed a series of targeted solutions, hoping to increase the level of new generation of migrant workers’ occupational safety cognition, reduce the unsafe behavior and improve their occupational safety status.
