So far the tea-horse trade has achieved fruitful results. Tea- horse trade rose in the Tang Dynasty, developed in the Song Dynasty, flourished in the Ming academic point has been the academic consensus.The causes of the development of the tea-horse trade has a discussion, but studies mainly from the economic, political, ethnic relations expound. From the academic background of the history of agriculture, the tea is one of the typical product of agricultural areas, the horse is one of the typical pastoral animal husbandry products, while tea is the ordinary consumer goods in the pastoral life. The horse is the rural areas’ s production.It’s mainly for transportation,war and other fields.So It is possible to analyze the development of the tea-horse trade from the transition ofpastoral relationship.Relationship between agriculture and animal can be analyzed from the fluctuation distribution agricultural and pastoral areas, changes in the structure of agriculture and animal husbandry, farming level of national development three aspects to explore. By examining the history, it can be found: Before the Tang Dynasty,the relationship is intermittent opposition.But from the Wan Tang and the Five Dynasties to the Song period, the relationship between agriculture and animal husbandry had into continued confrontation. And the development of the tea-horse trade after trade from tribute to horse trade silk, to the tea-horse trade process, reflecting the characteristics of the tea-horse trade from non-equivalent to the equivalent exchange, from inequality to equality relationship, from luxury to Life necessities.The gradual rise and development of the tea-horse trade, will reflect the political function of the faded to the economic functions.Early Tang Dynasty not only the beginning of the transition of relationship,but also the bud of the tea-horse trade in the original tribute trade system.Affected by the level of national agricultural development and the industrial structure, the tea-horse trade was still within the scope of the tributary trade in this period.The political function was obviously,non-equivalent exchange trading.Song Dynasty pastoral relationship is the ultimate transition times, it was slso the to obtain further development of tea-horse trade. Continued stalemate made the tea-horse trade exchanges become an inter-regional economic exchanges. Regional agricultural and pastoral areas during this period of growth and decline, changes in the structure of agriculture and animal husbandry as well as the balance of power led to the nation’s farmers and tea-horse trade transactions showing real products, equivalent exchange and trading characteristics of the times the two sides on an equal footing.In the Late Tang and Five Dynasties the relationship between agriculture and animal husbandry was continuing transformation.At the same time tea-horse trade produced. Because of the difference betwee tmutual needs and natural resources in this period, the tea-horse trade showing a trend: equivalent exchange to equity trading.Changes of each other made the tea-horse trade ‘spolitical function highlighted.In summary, the tea-horse trade in the rise and development of the Tang and Song period was affected by the transformation of the relationship between agriculture and animal husbandry in this period.
