Comprehensive Evaluation And Research Of The Sustainable Development Of Beijing Ground Public Transportation

Building sustainable transportation is the necessary process of Beijing ground public transportation; it can harmoniously promote the developments of transportation infrastructure, economic society, resource environment and traffic management. This issue is in urgent need of theoretical guidance and specific practice proposal. Combining the latest research progress and practice, this research attempts to build up a comprehensive evaluation index system for the sustainable development of ground public transportation and give evaluation for the condition in Beijing. This index system contains four subsystems, including transportation infrastructure, economic& society, resource&environment and traffic management. By representative and practicable multi-index, we make comprehensive description and evaluation for Beijing ground public transportation and the economy, society, resources and environment associated with it. This paper use entropy method to get weighting results, which matched the real condition very well We build up transportation infrastructure index, economic society index, resource environment index and traffic management index to study the sustainable development of Beijing ground public transportation from the four subsystems. We also set up the sustainable development index to study the sustainable development in Beijing integrally. This paper concluded that the Comprehensive sustainable development ability of Beijing ground public transportation system is in basic developed sustainable stage and will go to a high developed sustainable stage. From the four subsystems, transportation infrastructure and economic society subsystem are most in basic developed sustainable stage. At the same time, economic society subsystem is going to the high developed sustainable stage. Resource environment and traffic management subsystem have already in high developed sustainable stage. At last, Opinions and Suggestions are put forward to solve some problems in this research.
