The Study Of The Effects Of Population Structure Changes On The Consumption Of Residents In China

Since the reform and opening up, we can see the economy’s development in economy of China, consumption is the most important driving force in the three carriages which can promote the economic, although it increases by year, but the growth rate is falling. A country’s economic development can not be separated from the consumption of residents, this article will find the impact of the structure of consumption changes from the age structure of China’s population and the structure of the quality and put forward some suggestions. Based on the theory of life cycle hypothesis and China’s dual economic structure, we will study the impact of population age structure on the consumption of residents, and at the same time test the applicability of the life cycle hypothesis in China. In this paper,we use the life cycle theory to establish the utility maximization model and use the cross section condition and Hamilton function to obtain the original estimation equation. Then use dependency coefficient s to established the final equation during 2002--2013. In addition, the population flow rate and the birth rate are added in and use eviews6.0 to analyze. Finally, we find that the elderly dependency and child dependency ratio were significantly negative and positive, in addition, the population flowing also accelerated the increase of consumption, which is better verified the positive effect of population under the dual economy in China.Then this paper taking urban residents as an example uses structural equation to verify the direct and indirect impact on the quality of the population of urban residents’ consumption structure. Use AMOS17.0 to estimate, from the final results,we can find that the quality of China’s population of urban residents a weak directimpact on total consumption and consumption structure, using the intermediate variable income to influence, income has a positively correlated with the total consumption, adding income can promote the growth of consumption. Income has a negative correlation coefficient with consumption structure, but because of the consumption structure coefficient is negative, so income can optimize the consumption structure。To sum up, the demographic structure in the age and quality of the population will have a significant impact on the consumption of Chinese residents,they can change the age structure of the population by improving the present situation of China’s consumption, and by improving the quality of the population structure to make the structure of consumption more reasonable.
