Research On Graphite Development And Application And Forecast Of Graphite Demand And Supply

Graphite has many excellent properties, In the past it has been widely applied in the refractory, metallurgical, casting, mechanical equipment, chemicals and other traditional industries. With the progress of science and technology, potential of graphite material in new materials, new energy, electronic information and other high-tech industry is being excavated gradually, make graphite become impotent mineral in emerging industrie.This paper using the geological analogy method and NPV method to evaluate graphite mine, and calculate the available reserves and production in under different market conditions of china in 2020, 2025, 2030. Forecast the demand of natural graphite in our country in the future by department analysis. Finaly, this paper analyze the china’s graphite supply and demand trend in the future.The analysis results show that the new energy vehicles and new graphite materials industry will be the main areas to drive the global graphite sup-ply and demand pattern.China’s demand of natural graphite will reach 771, 914 and 1055 thousand tons in 2020, 2025, 2030. In the reference scenario(FIRR=0,3000 yuan per ton), the available reserves is abundant in china.Under the condition of that all china’s demand meet by domestic resources and there are no new resources be found, the available reserves in china’s occupied mine will reach 101795, 97511 and 92518 thousand tons. The production capacity of china’s occupied mine is abundant too, so that they can meet the demand of country and export a large number of graphite products every year. In the reference scenario, the available production capacity of occupied mine will reach 1008, 1016 and 969 thousand tons in 2020, 2025, 2030. This paper pointed out that graphite production will remain in a state of excess in the short term. Because the mine dried up and the growth of graphite demand,the available production capacity of occupied mine can’t meet china’s demand in future, China should planning the production of graphite reasonably to protect the domestic graphite resources and to ensure an adequate graphite supply.
