The Study Of Gaochun Rural Tourism Industry Based On The "Slow Town" Concept

Slow City derived from the Slow Food Movement. In Italy, four towns started Slow City movement and identified the concept of slow city. The movement, which promoted the development of the tourism industry, then flourished in Europe and other areas in the world. Gaochun Yaxi is a beautiful village and the first one announced as the "International Slow City" in China. According to the research of domestic and foreign scholars on slow city and rural tourism, most of the contents of the research combine not only local conditions and customs, but also the country’s economy and society. The rural tourism in our country has not been a part of our tourism industry until 2000. The development of rural tourism in our country gradually reveals certain characteristics. However, the development of the slow city in China is still in its infancy.This study focused on how to put the slow city concept into Gaochun rural tourism development. First it will be an overview of the slow city, involving its origins, developments, features and other related contents. Based on current research of slow city, this study conducts a systematic analysis of the concept of Slow City. Then by studying slow city cases, this study will sum up the common experience of slow city development. Gaochun Yaxi, which was announced as "International Slow City" in Scotland on 27th November 2010, attracts a great amount of tourists by its green economy, history protection and the construction of leisure facilities. After becoming China’s first slow city, it will also have great influence on the promotion of "slow life".In recent years, based on ecological and cultural tourism resources, Gaochun set a tourism brand "Eco-leisure Water Town" with eco-tourism system, rivers and lakes’ leisure areas and farm tourism. The tourism industry in Gaochun developed enormously these years, but there were also problems like the nonstandard management, shortage of talent, and lack of promotion of the slow town.According to the analysis of rural tourism resources in Gaochun and the great chance of Slow City, it will promote the development of rural tourism in Gaochun if we put the emphasis on the rural culture and Slow City conception. It will be possible to build a "slow city" tourism district combined with cultural activities, entertainment facilities, restaurants, and real estate leasing. Gaochun’s rural tourism development strategy first should be the positioning of the Slow City tourism. Then it should have integrated planning of the tourism resources. It will also be important to improve the management, regulate and expand the tourism market, and balance resources development and resources protection. Gaochun will be built into the most beautiful countryside and set the brand "Slow City".Here we hope the research results will provide guidance and reference for the construction of Gaochun’s rural tourism industry.
