With the development of economic globalization, more and more companies will regard R & D internationalization as an important way to obtain knowledge and improve innovation capability of enterprises. Under the guidance of "going out" strategy, more and more Chinese enterprises began to participate in the economic globalization. As a "latecomer", how to fast integration into economic globalization quickly and enhance the ability of innovation and catch up with developed countries is worth considering. In this paper, we analyze the connection of performance of the parent company and different R & D networks overseas.Taking Chinese listed companies data for example, we conduct an exploratory analysis of four cases, which is about the connection of performance of the parent company and different R & D networks overseas, then we take empirical analysis to prove the question. In this paper, the basic study sample are 1745 companies which carry out R&D activities in the overseas, and we screened out 114 listed companies which has two or more overseas R & D subsidiaries from it. We get the following conclusions through the multiple linear regression and multiple logistic regression analysis:(1) China’s listed companies’overseas R&D breadth has a positive impact on the innovation performance of parent company while the depth has a negative influence. (2) The degree of intellectual property protection, corporate R & D investment, the availability of scientific and technological personnel, the level of knowledge competitiveness and R&D wages of the host country have a significantly positive impact on China’s overseas R&D site. (3) The technical diversity of domestic enterprises have a significant impact on innovation performance of parent company.
