The Research And Strategy About The Problem Of High Inventory Based On SAP In A Company

Getting up abroad at the beginning of the 1990s, ERP is the most advanced management technology and method of the enterprise, which have brought a lot of benefits, and SAP ranks first with its excellent process design and the best solution. A company, where the author works at, is a mechanical manufacturing company with SAP going live just for 6 months. But the company is keeping a high inventory value due to shorting of experience in using ERP and some other reasons. This problem will cause a series of influences on the company operation, so the way to assure that we can meet the need in production and avoid an inventory buildup at the same time, become an important and complex issue.This paper gathered the historical inventory data in SAP of company A, then come up with the reasons of the inventory problem at this stage based on the data comparison and the statistical analysis, characteristics of SAP and the operational processes of the company. According to analysis these reasons, based on sap system we can propose practical ways and means to solve the problem, combined with the situations of our company and the logistics theory and certain knowledge related. The research result of this paper will provide the direct guidance to solve the high inventory problem of company A.
