Study On The Influence Of The Opening Degree To China’s Urbanization Development

Urbanization is an important symbol of modernization to measure a country or a region’s economic and social development. Since the reform and opening up, China’s rapid urbanization development, and in 2011 the first time the urban population more than the rural population, the national bureau of statistics released at the end of 2014 China’s urbanization rate of 54.77%, the urbanization level has been greatly increase. Currently, our country to strengthen the construction of the new Silk Road Economic Zone and the Marine Silk Road Economic Zone in twenty-first Century, usher in a new round of big opening, and what is the impact for the development of urbanization under the background of further the new normal open up? In this paper, based on previous studies, using the method of principal component analysis to our country foreign trade dependence degree and dependence degree of foreign direct investment two factors were weighted to get the degree of opening to the outside world to a systematic evaluation indicator, trying a more systematic evaluation of the openness of China’s urbanization development contributions. And use econometric methods of opening effect extent by economic growth and industrial structure change in the urbanization development.This paper uses panel data of 30 provinces in China during 1997-2012 were analyzed, testing the effects of urbanization on the opening degree based on the system GMM method, and the influence of the opening degree to urbanization development though promote industrial restructuring and promote economic growth,which called structure effect and growth effect. The results of the study show that: first, the opening degree has a significant positive effect on the national level of urbanization development, but there are large regional differences, the higher degree of opening to the outside world in some areas, the greater contribution to the development of urbanization, the eastern region and central region affected is significant and most prominent, affect the results, followed by the central region, while the western region does not significantly affect the results; second, the structure effect of opening to the outside world to promote the development of China’s urbanization is significantly positive, but the growth effect of regional differences, the growth effect of the national level and the eastern region is negative, and the structure effect and growth effects of the central and the western regions are both positive.Finally, according to the findings, this paper gives some policy suggestions in order to further expand the opening up of China, to provide reference and steadily promote urbanization development goals.
