Financial control is the core of enterprise management. For a long time, the electric power research institutes in China have carried on positive exploration and the practice in strengthening and improving financial control, and achieved remarkable results. However, on the whole, their financial management level cannot meet the demands of new situation, the extensive management which has not been solved fundamentally becomes a weak link in management, affects the sustained, healthy and stable development of enterprises.Intensive management is an effective measure in strengthening resource allocation and risk control ability for modern enterprise groups. Nowadays, with the rapid development of computer technology, the widespread application of internet technology and electronic commerce, the environment in which the electric power research institutes are has fundamental changes, the applications of information deepening have made great progress. With the more powerful support of information technology, how to carry out financial control activities in information environment and intensive guidance is a problem which should be studied and thought by the EPRI.In this paper, the writer explains the related theories of intensive financial control firstly. Then, the writer introduces the practice of financial control in domestic and international enterprise groups briefly. Thirdly, starting from the practical work, taking S EPRI for instance, expounds the main problems and reasons of financial control. On this basis, puts forward relevant suggestions for further improvement in financial control of S EPRI, hopes to provide some references in strengthening financial management and control of Electric Power Research Institutes of China.
