Research On Farmers’ Behavior Of Participating In Agriculture Standardization Process Of Xinjiang Crops

Agriculture standardization is the standardization of agriculture. According to the practice of advancing agriculture in China and other foreign countries, it has been proved that agriculture standardization is the basis to promote the agricultural integration. It is also an efficient way to ensure the agricultural products quality. Furthermore, it is the essential method to solve the agriculture, rural development and farmers issues and encourage the agricultural products to access to the international market. In the recent years, agricultural standardization has become an efficient tool to modernize the agricultural process and improve the international competitiveness of agriculture. The party and government in China have paid high attention to the agricultural standardization. Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Agriculture has developed into the basis and advantaged industry of the Xinjiang Corps.As the agricultural profit index is at the advanced level in China, the application of the agricultural standardization reveals to be much more important. However, factors such as the resource supply,environment, group system and mechanism restrict, the increase of agricultural cost, have restricted the development of corps agricultural modernization. Agricultural standardization could be able to relieve the environment resource factors, reduce the cost, improve the agricultural profit and thus accelerate the modernization process.In this paper, the obstacle factors of the application of agricultural standardization would be studied from the view of the agricultural standardization subject behavior. In the first step, the literature review would be conducted. The background of the agricultural standardization development state would be searched. The concepts and theoretical basis of the agricultural standardization would also be analyzed.Moreover, the corps agricultural standardization would be represented. In order to analysis the application of the corps agricultural standardization, 270 cotton farmers of Xinjiang production and construction corps would be surveyed. The binary logistic regression model would be selected to analysis the factors which would affect the standardization production behaviors of cotton farmers. The results showed that four factors including cultivated area, cultivated species number, participate times of the agricultural standardization train and agricultural product price, would be the most influential factors. Besides, the significance test of government support and machine adoption rate would be conducted by the model. Main conclusions are listed as below.(1) Although some progress have been made in the agricultural standardization process of the Xinjiang production and construction corps, there are still gaps in comparison with the developed regions.(2)Standardization production would be affected by various factors. It could be achieved that cultivated area,cultivated species number, participate times of the agricultural standardization train and agricultural product price, would be the most influential factors.(3) The standardization production process should be further standardized. In this process, economic factors could lead to speculation of farmers, such as the operating irregularity because of the less-stringent regulations.(4) ‘Good quality and inexpensive’mechanism should be further developed. Although the cotton could be purchased by grade, the mechanismmentioned has not been established, which could lead to the decrease of the enthusiasm of the standardization production.In this paper, several methods could be proposed. The prices of the standardization productions would be raised to increase the enthusiasm of the standardization production. Reducing the study cost of the agricultural standardization, developing the land transfer system and supervision mechanism should be conducted. Moreover, the technical service level of the standardization production would be increased and the great support for the economic organization of the agricultural standardization should be offered. As a result, the agriculture of the corps would be developed sustainably and healthily.
