Research On The Coordinated Development In Gansu Province Between The Tourism Industry And Urbanization

The development of tourism and urbanization are two striking topics under the economic background of today’s world. And the relationship between them is becoming more and more close with the speeding up of the tourism industrialization and the improvement of urbanization level. If they can develop in a coordinated way, it will be able to play a “magnetic effect”. The effect of tourism development help to promote the development of local economy, to attract investment, to increase employment, to promote the adjustment of industrial structure and to expand the market, etc. In turn,the city and town, the tourism industry cohesion, relies on the tourism industry, shows to be the most effective, also provides the basic material guarantee for the development of tourism industry and the public service. Urbanization in an orderly way promotes the rapid development of tourism. Therefore, to explore the mechanism of their coordinated development,reveals their coordinated development law is of great significance to promote further development of the new urbanization.This paper takes Gansu province current tourism industry and urbanization development stage and status as the background,Starting from the basic concept of tourism and urbanization, the basis of literature review on the domestic and foreign about the tourism industry and urbanization and the interaction theory research results, combined with the actual situation in Gansu province,then deeply analyses the interaction mechanism of the tourism industry and the urbanization.On the basis of theoretical analysis, based on the date from 1991 to 2013 in Gansu province, taking tourism revenue accounted for the proportion of GDP to reflect the level of tourism development, the urbanization rate reflects the development level of urbanization, to carry out the empirical analysis by constructing a VAR model. The results show that: the development of the tourism industry will promote the improvement of the level of urbanization, on the other hand, the improvement of the level of urbanization will support the rapid development of tourism industry. Based on the above conclusions, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward, in order to provide a good theoretical basis for the coordinated development of the tourism industry and the urbanization in Gansu province, and also provide a new idea for the construction of the new urbanization.
