With the development of economic globalization and information technology, electric power companies have accumulated a large number of applications in power quality informationization. Based on different development platform or language, these applications are usually independent, heterogeneous and closed so that they can’t share information and resource with each other, leading to the isolated island of information. Then a flexible and effective application integration technology is urgently needed to manage these resources uniformly and improve management efficiency.Service-oriented architecture (SOA) is the first solution for companies in both improving a system and designing a new system framework. SOA packages independent applications as services and provides standard interfaces, which are usually independent of the platform used. As a key component of SOA technical landing, enterprise service bus (ESB) leverages the idea of SOA. Using ESB, SOA builders need not worry about the releasing and using problem of services but consider how to analyze business, decompose and integrate services, and so on.This paper firstly introduces the concept and architecture of SOA and ESB and compares open source ESB products. Then, based on the Mule ESB, the paper proposes the overall structure and design of power quality service bus and detailing the implementation of the service bus. Experimental results show that power quality intelligent information system can be integrated through service bus.
