In the vigorous development of the socialized large scale production today, advertisement has been penetrated into every aspect of people’s lives. From emergence to development, every step of the advertisement cannot do without the progress of science and technology. No exaggeration to say, the history of advertisement is a part of the science and technology development history. The purpose of advertisement is to sell goods, it promote products in different forms in order to make consumers understand and accept the goods quickly, which plays an important role in commodity production and circulation in today’s society. Nowadays, scientific knowledge is not independent of the application in production, but presenting a status of highly unites of science, technology and production. In virtue of the advanced media, the advertisement transfers science and technology information faster than traditional channels, which is more easily to understand and accept for the public. So, as a force to promote the progress of science and technology and a carrier to communicate knowledge of science and technology, advertisement has a significant impact upon promoting the progress of science and technology and communication of science and technology. Therefore, the relationship between advertising and science and technology are very close. This paper will analyze the relationship between science and technology and advertisement: starting with the development of advertisement, run through the development level of science and technology in the various historical periods and corresponding development of advertisement, arrange and analyse software and hardware of modern advertisement, which proves that the development of advertisement and the progress of science and technology are inseparable----without science and technology progress, no various advertisements. Secondly, it demonstrated the effect of advertisement in promoting the progress of science and technology. Finally, it analyse the positive and negative effects of modern advertisement in communication of science and technology. It ultimately proves the development of science and technology gives the motive force of the advertisement development, healthy development of the advertisement effect the progress of science and technology in turn. The application of science and technology, makes the advertisement useful and interesting, ubiquitous and beautiful. They promote each other, develop together.
