In today’s knowledge innovation, technology innovation and industrial innovation changing era of knowledge economy, knowledge employee not only is the source of enterprise core competitiveness, and has a significant impact on city’s economic development and industrial structure optimization. And our country is in a critical period of economic transformation and industrial structure optimization,companies and governments at all levels pay more attention to the connotation of economic growth, brings the knowledge employee demand peak, in turn has given rise to a larger wave of knowledge employee district.How to introduce and retain knowledge employee, and maintain the stability of this group has become the enterprise, the difficult point of the city to obtain and maintain competitive advantage. So the government will be knowledge employee as an important factor of regional development, and to attract and retain the group has established a series of public policy. Actively introduce the knowledge employee is causing economic underdeveloped areas of government and enterprise attaches great importance to the underdeveloped areas. Therefore, the knowledge employee area flow problem in underdeveloped area of study has become the important topics of regional economics. Work in this paper, with the aid of job embeddedness theory, in the northwest of underdeveloped regions in the special economic background, the knowledge employee in Lanzhou city as the research object, to study the enterprises and institutions in the region factors that influence the knowledge employee area flow retention, especially the particularity of region for the flow of key influence knowledge employee. Research conclusions show that the Job embeddedness model can predict to some extent of underdeveloped regions in regional flow retention of the knowledge employee, among the on-the-job- embeddedness has significantly negative prediction effect to regional flow retention; and Organization link and Organization Fit has significantly negative prediction effect to regional flow retention.
