As a large agricultural country, rural areas have always been a significant role in the process of China’s economic development. With the rapid economic development, the central government no longer fixes the position of rural areas in terms of food security, and large-scale agricultural production and so on. In 2015, the central government put forward the policy of construction of socialism new countryside, pointing out the necessity of comprehensive advancing human settlement renovation in rural areas in No.1 Document 2015, and making it a new demand of the central government against rural areas by putting more efforts in rural construction, which is also the farmers’ strong request after they had higher level of production and living. However, our country has insufficient cultivated land resources for reserve, with low use ratio. At present, the rural residential areas are featured by “Dirty, Disordered, with Poor Conditions”, and the land area is out of limits, with layout disorder. In addition, with the accelerating of urbanization and ever-increasing population, the contradictions between people and land are becoming increasingly acute in our country. Rural residential land consolidation has become an essential way to solve the contradiction. It can not only improve the farmers’ living environment, but also facilitate the intensive use of fundamental public service facility in rural areas, playing an important role in making a dynamic balance of the amount of arable land.Based on the previous research findings of predecessors, this paper chose the peasant households of Liugong Town, Changji City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region as the respondent, and made an investigation and analysis on the peasant households’ inclination to participate in rural residential land consolidation. Taking theories of hierarchy need, public participation, sustainable development, and cognitive theory as the basis, this paper studied the peasant households’ inclination to participate in rural residential land consolidation and the influence factors in Liugong Town, Changji City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by Logistic binary regression analysis model.
