Economic Vulnerability Assessment Of Chinese Typical Coastal Tourism City

Human have turned their developmental sight from land to the ocean in the 21 st century,marine tourism has become an emerging and pillar industry to drive economic growth of the national and the regional.However,tourism industry has weaknesses,such as dependencies,volatility and seasonal,coupled with recent natural disasters,infectious diseases,social unset and other crisis occurring high frequency,making the weaknesses of tourism more significant.Thus,the research on the vulnerability of coastal tourism city has become more and more important.In this paper,under the guidance of the theory and method of vulnerability analysis,through reviewing the comprehensive review about the regional economic system vulnerability at home and abroad,according to the special definition of coastal tourism,from the two angles of sensitivity of urban economic system and the ability to respond to the unexpected situations to build the economic vulnerability evaluation index system of coastal tourism city in our country,from the two directions of regional differences and time change,to evaluate the economic vulnerability of the typical coastal tourism city in our country.Through the analysis of obstacle degree value of the economic vulnerability of typical coastal tourism city in our country,obtains the influence factors that restrict the decline of economic system vulnerability of each city.The results show that,the degree of economic system vulnerability of typical coastal tourism cities in our country exist significant differences with the regional differences and time change,both the sensitivity of urban economic system and response abilities to the unexpected situations determine the economic system of vulnerability city.For the low and middle vulnerability areas,the main reason of low vulnerability is the system’s higher response ability,and higher and highest vulnerability areas are mainly restricted by the higher sensitivity.Sensitivity index and response capability index have increased to varying degrees over time change.According to the barrier factors analysis,the sensitivity factors,such as the growth rate of total tourists,swimming fitness,beach entertainment index and the number of national-level scenic spots and the response ability factors,such as the total tourism revenue growth rate,industrial structure diversification index,the region’s fiscal self-sufficiency rate,coastal tourism growth elasticity coefficient and the proportion of education funds spending accounts in the local fiscal expenditure are the main obstacle factors restricting the decline of economic vulnerability of different levels of vulnerability city.Finally,based on the empirical results,from the aspects of regional industrial structure optimization,coastal tourism infrastructure and investment in education,according to the different types of vulnerabilities of coastal tourist city,put forward the corresponding coordination and optimization recommendations,in order to provide some references for the economic development direction of Chinese typical coastal tourism city.
