Study On Performance Of Jiangxi’s Civil Aviation Manufacturing Based On Malmquist Index

Well-known as the “modern industry flower”, aviation manufacturing has so many significant features, including high technology intensity, wide industry association, strong integration, strong linkage effect and so on. Civil aviation manufacturing of Jiangxi province is facing its incredible opportunities not only because of its long history accumulation, solid industrial foundation and good social environment, but also because of its status as pillar industry. However, as civil aviation manufacturing of Jiangxi has problem with performance, it is necessary to make a closer study of performance to change the current optimistic situation.First of all, this paper summarizes the development of aviation manufacturing and performance appraisal both at home and abroad, it reveals the feasibility and progress of using Malmquist index to analyze performance of civil aviation manufacturing. Second, based on analysis of Jiangxi’s civil aviation manufacturing, research shows that Jiangxi’s civil aviation manufacturing has the following problems to be solved: overall efficiency of development is low; ability to resist the economic crisis is weak; input is redundant and there is a lack of technological innovation. Afterwards, this paper uses the Malmquist to analyze the dynamic efficiency of Jiangxi’s civil aviation manufacturing from 2006 to 2013, and look in details at factors of efficiency change by decomposing Malmquist index, and summarize the factors from the point of horizontal and vertical. Horizontal analysis shows that overall efficiency of development is low; input is redundant and there is a lack of technological innovation. Vertical analysis shows that ability to resist the economic crisis is weak; comprehensive performance has a downward trend.At last, on the basis of analysis of Jiangxi’s civil aviation manufacturing and experience of developed countries, this paper suggests that the policy practice in the future should pay attention to the following aspects: at the macroscopic level, optimize the industrial structure, stimulate creative vitality and complete regulations and policies; at the medium level, promote co-operation based on division of labor, strengthen foreign exchange and cooperation; at the microscopic level, build up modern corporate systems, increase technology investment, perfect the talents training mechanism, etc.
