With the growing maturity of electronic commerce market, distribution center plays an irreplaceable role as an important link. However, compared with the traditional logistics warehouse, distribution center of the B2C electronic commerce enterprise has its particularity. Order picking operation is triggered by customer orders. Quantity of order is very large while goods quantity of every single order is small. Also, goods have diversity. In fact, order picking efficiency directly affects the order response speed, and the storage location assignment is an important factor affecting the efficiency of order picking.This paper takes3C distribution center of e-commerce enterprise J for example, analyses the current storage location assignment status and points out the existing problems, including that storage location management is not in conformity with the basic principles of storage location assignment, and EX-warehouse efficiency is low. In view of these problems, the paper puts forward the optimization method. Firstly, considering the goods demand correlations, EX-warehouse frequency, goods weight and volume, and put the number of two items appearing in one order as correlation coefficient, storage location assignment mathematical model is established. Then genetic algorithm is given. Secondly, the goods are classified adopting ABC classification based on EX-warehouse frequency, and goods of class-A is assigned to the area closest to the packaging area. Then, for the goods of class-A, the paper uses MATLAB software to program for solving the model with related data and proposes optimization solution of storage location assignment. Finally, compared with previous order picking, efficiency improves by15.68%after optimization. The result shows that optimization mind and mathematical model in this paper is practical and effective for guiding e-commerce enterprise storage location management.
