Study On The Function Of Shipping Service Trade In FTZ

As World and Chinese economy has entered a new development level, service industry achieved an unprecedented development. Also, service trade develops quickly with power head and almost surpasses traditional good trade in foreign trade, becoming the most important increase point. On the other hand, countries, including our government, have vigorously promoted regional trade liberalization to better cooperation and development. Chinese government proposes "The belt and road initiatives" strategy and builds free trade zone (FTZ) in many Chinese costal cities. In this new international background and trend, this thesis aims to discuss how to develop service trade, how to better build FTZ, how to learn from advanced FTZ abroad to better develop service trade in FTZ, etc.The thesis organizes literature review of service trade, FTA and FTZ, especially discusses the relation between service trade and FTZ. Then on the basis of industry cluster theory and industrial convergence theory, commenting shipping service trade, which is the key industry in service trade, in FTZ. Moreover, a comprehensive analytical framework is structured to explain how shipping service trade form and develop in FTZ. Some internal factors like sustained market demand, industry assembling, and resource endowment, together with some external factors give impetus to the formation and development of shipping service trade in FTZ, till a sound shipping service ecosystem is built. Furthermore, three typical foreign FTZ, Shanghai FTZ and Zhoushan port are picked to comparative analysis both in description and demonstration, and AHP (Analytic hierarchy process) and factor analysis are used to evaluate their hard and soft shipping service power. At last, the thesis explores orientation and ways of shipping service trade in Zhoushan FTZ, and proposes related policy advice in order to narrow the gap and exploit its advantages.
