A sound scientific performance appraisal system can improve employees’performance continuously, which is good for the organizational performance and thestrategic goal of enterprise. Therefore, we keep on adjusting and optimizingorganizational performance evaluation system, expect to achieve its great significance.With the fast development of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd, number offoreign personnel within the company increased significantly. However, theperformance management of them made no adjustments and changes according totheir working emphasis and a series of problems revealed gradually. Thus, acomprehensive analysis of the performance appraisal of FAW-Volkswagen AutomotiveCo., Ltd was done, in order to find out the problems and put forward the optimizeddesign scheme. Follows were the specific process:In introduction, we can understand the background, significance and methods ofthis research. Due to the expansion of the scale, richness of product category, progressof technology, double post system and other reasons, the number of foreign staff inFAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd increased rapidly. Foreign employees haveadvantage of knowledge and technology, and they have richer industry experience.Optimizing the existing performance appraisal project helps foreign staff take theseadvantages. The second chapter introduced the company and the existing performanceappraisal system in detail. We studied the foreign staff performance appraisal projectfrom some respects: performance indexes, performance appraisal process, feedbackand application of performance appraisal results. Amelioration and improvement of the performance appraisal project for FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd wasdesigned in chapter three. For example, the key performance index (KPI) system wasoptimized with the method of fishbone diagram. Chapter fore put forward somesafeguards: the organization guarantee, system guarantee and the shareholdersagreement etc. The conclusion includes the summary and generalization of the studyand some limitations of the research which is to be perfect.By optimizing the designation of the performance appraisal project of foreignpersonnel by FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd, we solved problems in theprocess of foreign personnel performance management. The company’s performancemanagement project became more scientific and effective, adapting to developmentof the company. On the one hand, it could fully mobilize the enthusiasm of theforeign staff, improve their personal performance and ultimately promoted andrealized the strategic goal of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. On the otherhand, the optimized performance appraisal project had certain reference meanings tothe foreign staff performance management in other joint ventures.
