Research On Sino-US Trade Friction Under United States Reindustrialization

Affected by the financial crisis in2008, the United States realized the importance of thereal economy, so the government put forward the reindustrialization strategy. The U.S. tradeprotectionism also gradually rises, and strengthened to protect China’s trade. Afterindustrialization strategy in2009, the United States has a certain degree of success inmanufacturing output, manufactured exports, manufacturing industry internationalcompetitiveness. China as a manufacturing power in the world, the nation’s second largesttrading nation, also has been in the adjustment of industrial structure upgrade during theUnited States manufacturing regression. The products have more competitive, followed bySino-US trade friction intensified, and the trade remedy investigation on China from U.S. hasa new change.This paper introduces the connotation of reindustrialization strategy and policy measuresin the United States, analyzes the changes of Sino-US trade friction after the implementationof reindustrialization strategy, and sums up the new characteristics of Sino-US trade friction.Use a negative binomial counting model to explore the impact on the number of Sino-US tradefriction that the reindustrialization strategy made, and select the four indexes on behalf of theAmerican reindustrialization strategy effect, namely, the added value of the U.S.manufacturing sector as a share of GDP, unemployment rate, manufactured goods exports,manufacturing RCA index. The results show that the added value of American manufacturingand the United States to China trade cases investigation negatively correlated with the number;the unemployment rate in the United States, the United States manufacturing exports,manufacturing RCA index and American trade with China investigation number werepositively correlated. By analyzing the results, put forward promoting the investment andcooperation in the field of high technology, broadening the channels of the Sino-US tradeliberalization, encouraging and guiding the scientific and technological innovation to pushmanufacturing climbing the high-end of value chain, from the national level of manufacturingindustry cluster layout for scientific guidance to enhance the industrial internationalcompetitiveness and so on.
