In recent years, the foundry industry of our country has been developed rapidly. The casting output of our country has become No.1all over the world since2000. China’s foundry industry has become an important part of global manufacturing industry. With China’s accession to WTO, the casting export volume of our country has increased gradually. Due to the deficient quality management, there is still a gap comparing with developed countries on the quality of casting.Q Company is a large state-owned enterprise well-known as producing locomotive&rolling stock steel castings. Its casting production capacity and technological level have a certain reputation in domestic railway foundry industry. However, the company has some problems in project quality management. Particularly, how to strengthen quality management for the project of R&D products and shorten production cycle of R&D products to make customer satisfied is the prior issue that the company urgently needs to solve.Under the background of the project quality management of the A bogie, combined with relevant knowledge of project quality management, this thesis presents some problems existing in project quality management of Q Company, such as problems in project plan, quality assurance and quality control. Based on the understanding of quality management, project management and PDCA recycled theory, the reasons of frequent changes of work plan are found out, and they are the lack of risk analysis, project planning is one-sided and lack of effective monitoring in project plan making. The reasons of quality assurance system separated from reality are organization structure issue, too formal and meaningless quality audit work and incomplete quality control system. The reasons that result in formal and meaningless process quality control are quality tool improper using and lack of quality consciousness. In view of project plan problem, quality assurance problem, and quality control problem existing in project quality management of Q Company, this thesis puts forward improving proposal of project quality management in Q Company.Through the study of the A bogie’s project quality management in Q Company, the purpose of this thesis is to provide reference to R&D project quality management of foundry in future. Besides, because of the characteristics of foundry industry and project quality management involved, this thesis may apply to project quality management in other companies which have similar situation, and also can provide reference to project quality management for these companies.
