A Study On The Evaluation Of Intellectual Capital Of Enterprises Based On The Skandia Model

Since the end of the20th century, with the trend of globalization andinformation, the world officially entered the era of knowledge economy. Socialeconomy and people’s life happened to change and "intellectual capital" was putforward as an important part of enterprise capital for the first time. Intellectualcapital was considered as a new factor of production. Its valuation problem surfaced.For all types of enterprises, especially for high-tech ones, how to effectively assessthe value of intellectual capital with what kind of methods are very important issues.These issues are directly related to how accurate and effective to understand theirbusiness and how to maximize their interests. The main purpose of this study is totry to find a micro-evaluation method that can provide both comprehensiveassessment value and guidance of knowledge management for the managementlayer.First of all, this paper reviewed the existing literature to understand the concept,the composition and the main evaluation methods of intellectual capital. Afteranalysis and comparison, Skandia model was choosed as the basis index system.Secondly, according to the time sequence of relevant theory of intellectual capital,we respectively expounds the resource-based theory, human capital theory and thetheory of core competence. Furthermore, on the basis of the theory and index systemof Skandia navigation model, we form four-dimensional model of24indicatorsincluding human capital, structural capital, customer capital and innovation capital.Finally, taking the76listed companies in computer application service industry assamples, using December31,2013as the base date of the evaluation, ten principalcomponents are extracted by using the multivariate linear. Finally intellectual capitalevaluation equation was established by regression method in order to assess both thecomprehensive value and perspective specific constitution of intellectual capital.The empirical results are applied to Wanda.Co. to make brief analysis and proposesome suggestions.The main innovation of this paper is making practical improvement to Skandiamodel and using statistical method to make specific application more objective. Inaddition, the current study of intellectual value assessment is mostly to givemanagement advice and the sequence of factors. Using actor analysis and regression analysis, the conclusion of this paper can be both comprehensive value andcomprehensive factor score, meeting the needs of horizontal comparison and findingout the weak points of the internal intellectual management at the same time.
