The Analysis Towards Agricultural And Animal Husbandry Production Structure Of Gansu Province

The adjustment of agricultural production structure is essentially the rational allocation of resources to maximize each production factors. Under the background of low efficiency and poor foundation in Gansu Province, it is extremely important to adjust and optimize agricultural production structure.This study was based on relevant data of agriculture and animal husbandry production in Gansu Rural Yearbook. Besides, we consulted official data from the Ministry of Agriculture as well as Gansu Meteorological Agency, then, we processed them by Excel, SPSS, ArcGIS Desktop9.3. we analyze farming, animal as well as fishery husbandry production structure comprehensively in Gansu province and county scale to identify development trends of agricultural production structure in Gansu province. The results can provide theoretical foundation for further adjustment of agriculture and animal husbandry production ptructure of Gansu province. The following are major results:As with farming structure, the proportion of economic plants rises while crops shrink. For crops production, wheat planting is reduced, while corn and potato are increased. Among economic plants,the planting acreage of Chinese herbal medicine is the fastest growing, followed by apple and vegetables, however, oil-bearing plant remains stable. For crop yield, potato and fruit are greatly increased corn, wheat are steadily raised, vegetables fall before and then rise. The yield of oil-bearing plants yield has declined gradually. The western area of Yellow River is high production area of wheat. Linxia is very suitable for oil planting. Potatoes of Dingxi and apples of eastern area are of great quality.According to advantages of location and resources,we should adjust agricultural structure with the order of Chinese herbal medicine, vegetable, fruit, potato, corn, oil-bearing plant and wheat. Further more, wheat, corn, sesame seed and rapeseed planting must be greatly emphasized. The Western area of Yellow River should expand the planting acreage of wheat properly and expandChinese herbal medicine; narrow the planting corn and fruit; enlarge the acre of oil crops and potatoes properly. Middle area should expand vegetables, fruits and corn planting acreage while narrow wheat; Appropriate area should raise more Chinese herbal medicine. Eastern area should enlarge fruit, chinese medicinal herb and corn planting. Chinese herbal medicine planting should be added in Qingyang. Southern area should expand cultivated area of wheat and vegetables while narrow oil planting.In animal husbandry structure, the grass-eating animal husbandry has leaded the main stream in comparison with plant-eating animal husbandry; output of cattle is higher than the sheep, while hog production is the lowest. In Gansu, livestock production area is relatively centralized; the range of hog production area is largest, which radiated out from the central to the surrounding area and was close to disappearing in east and west; sheep production area is focused in the western area of Yellow River. The range of cattle production is the smallest, mainly in the eastern area. We should improve husbandry combined with planting, form a reasonable cycle and raise the cattle breeding properly. In addition, fishing is fastest value-added industry; therefore, the fishery should be strongly encouraged in related areas properly.
