Under the background of economic globalization, Zhejiang’s export oriented enterprises are facing a more complex challenge. One is facing the foreign investment companies in China, not only in domestic market competition, but also in the cheap human resources competition. On the other hand, the traditional export profits has been compressed. Therefore, going outwards and looking for more development space abroad are more important direction for SMEs in Zhejiang province, especially the small and medium enterprises, to seek survival and development space.In preparing to go abroad the small and medium-sized enterprises are facing the problems to develop overseas markets, which needs enough courage and strength. Therefore, the SMEs need to joint together in group to develop overseas markets.This paper summarizes the theories of internationalization strategy of small and medium-sized enterprises, in basis of the analysis on the development status of enterprises in zhejiang province to go outwards and summarizes their characteristics and problems when they go abroad. Then, using the small and medium-sized enterprises of zhejiang province, this paper analyzes the strategy of going abroad. The result finds that the founds that the small and medium-sized enterprises of Zhejiang province in international trade of are facing many unfavorable factors of cost increase, the international competition, trade friction, etc. Therefore, in the process of developing international market, SMEs have to pay cost for building overseas marketing channel.The suggestions for SMEs should be the way following large enterprises, and develop their niche markets, because large enterprises have their own market networks. Going outwards in group of SMEs is effective way to reduce cost, and achieve scale profit. Finally, in term of SWOT method, this paper analyzes the strategy of going abroad of zhejiang SMEs, and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions of SMEs internationalization, to solve the existing problems.
