Live-action performance is a unique mode of culture, which is characterized by natural landscape as its stage and the local culture and folklore as its mam contents. The creation team is usually made up of masters from entertainment industry and business circle, and its main actors are composed of local residents while the organizers are usually independent entertainment companies. Live-action performance is a new form to delve into the culture of the scenic spot and a new mode to display its charm. It is unique, local, national, artistic, and shocking. It is a revolution of tourism performance. The paper argues that live-action performance can integrate the scattered cultural resources in East Lake, and fully exploit and remold them. It can help to achieve effective industrial integration, establish the great structure system of tourism industry in East Lake. It can make the East lake culture more vivid and artistic, which can allow the tourists to enhance their understanding of East Lake culture in artistic appreciation. Meanwhile the performance products can be an innovative mode to spread the East Lake culture and increase the attraction and charm of the area.The paper regards East Lake as the object to develop live-action performance tourism products, considering the cultural characteristics and economic condition of Wuhan and drawing upon relevant successful experience from other places. It analyzes the geological conditions of developing live-action performance in East Lake from natural and social aspects. It explores conditions of resources from the extant resources. It analyzes the market demand from the aspects of tourism subject, object, and the co-existence value of tourist products. It makes cultural analysis from aspects of Chu culture, bosom-friend culture, Wuhan folk culture, Uprising culture, Red Culture, culture of modern science and technology, etc.The paper makes analysis of East Lake scenic spot live-action performance from four aspects, namely, themes, image, function, and market. The products of live-action performance should not only reflect history and culture, but also embody the current spirit of persistent pursuit, vigor, courage, transcendence, and innovation. The establishment of the product visual image is a process to improve the scenic spot and it goes along with the city planning and tourism planning. The business image must be consistent with the construction of a civilized Wuhan and of a city of wisdom; in other words, it should be green management. The products should be a perfect combination of recreation, knowledge, and visual appreciation. The live-action performance in East Lake should be composed of four separate, medium-sized, high-quality tourism artistic products, which are combined to display the glamour of great Wuhan with great rivers as well as the charm of Chu Culture. It should target at advanced business performances. Based on Chutian Culture and its development, it should fully utilize modern artistic skills and forms to further improve the charm of Chu culture and form a breath-taking visual scene by unique, graceful dancing language, exciting music tunes, colorful ethnic costumes, grand dance scenes, and superb lighting effects.The paper also conducts an initial creative planning of the product development of live-action performance in East Lake with its name as "Chu Spirit in East Lake". The notion of the planning is to display the beautiful landscape in East Lake scenic area, rich historical and cultural heritage, and distinct Chu Style, integrate the current tourism products, and highlight East Lake tourism features with a view to producing unique, brand-new, unreplaceable East Lake live-action performances. The products focus on dancing and singing performances and musicals, technically supported by light and electronic products from East Lake Hi-Tech Development Zone. The stories of famous figures such as Qu Yuan, Zhong Ziqi and Yu Boya, Pen Liuyang, and Mao Zedong are connected and have formed four plays of10parts altogether. The four plays are Nine Tunes by Qu Yuan in Chu country, Meeting Bosom Friend in Chu Dynasty, Revolutions in the former Chu area, and Remarkable Nights in the former Chu area. About600people participate and it lasts50minutes each play. In addition, the paper also makes planning in aspects such as technical means and elements, venues and locations, product packaging, scenes, sound, light, characters, performance, extended industry and products.The paper also makes relevant analysis of the development path of the live-action performance products in East Lake scenic spot in aspects such as the government’s leading position and entertainment company, products marketing and operation management, facilities and brand building, dynamic innovation and product development. In addition, it also puts forward the outline of the future for the development of live-action performance products in East Lake scenic spot.
