Study On Third Party Logistics Service Provider Selection Of Chemical Manufacturing Company A

In the selection of the third party logistics vendors, people tend to be more care about the service price, because price is the most visiable and measurable. To the business like company A which is a chemical company, the security amd compliance during the transporation and warehousing is more important. Thus, how to set up the concrete index, the weight of index,the method of selecting the logistics service providers is vital.Firstly, this paper introduced some concepts, such as the value and risk of third party logistics, the principle of selection and reviewed the theory on supplier selection indices system and methods. Secondly, by analyzing the general situation of company A and its industry, the most current supply chain stauts of company A in China, the article focused on exploring the supplier selection process and problems for company A. Thirdly, take the raw material logistics suppliers as an example, the thesis built up supplier selection indices system based on company culture and business need, also used analytic hierarchy process for indices weight, and meanwhile got company A supplier selection model by fuzzy evaluation method. And the company A supplier selection process was re-designed. Two potential suppliers of company A were studied as the empirical researches for proving the model effectiveness. At last, the research result was summarized and the deficiency of this paper was pointed out.
