Along with the complicated business environment, business model has become an effective tool to improve the business performance and competitiveness as well. The study on the relationship between business model and business performance has become the academic focus,but the research in the field is still in its infancy.Especially,there are few empirical studies about the impact the fit between business model and strategy playing on business performance.And in empirical studies, business model was rarely applied to a particular industry, but to research of the field.The purpose of this study is to deepen the research on fit between business model and strategy, rich the research on the relationship between business model and business performance.Therefore, the research has important theoretical and practical significance.The essence of business model is the process of value creation which has been received by many scholar’s identity. So it is a fundamental significance to study of business model based on the perspective of value creation. First of all, the paper divided value creation into three steps:value proposition, value creation and delivery, value realization; build business model structure from the perspective of value creation, as well as developed the business model classification index system. Besides, the paper used cluster analysis and factor analysis to classify the business models and strategies which adopted by software listed corporations and used one-way ANOVA to validate the effect of business model on software company performance, and then used one-way ANOVA to conduct the empirical research on the effect of fit degree between business model and strategy on business performance based on it. Furthermore, the paper used principal component analysis to evaluate comprehensive score of12fitting combinations of business model and strategy adopted by software listed companies. And the research conclusions are mainly show as follows:1. Business models adopted by software listed companies are totally different; there are6categories in total. The diversification of business model has an obvious trend, as well as exists the mainstream business model.2. The fit of business model and strategy has a significantly impact on business performance, however, the impact on different aspects of performance is different. The fit of business model and strategy has the most significant impact on the index that reflects profitability; followed by the impact on operational efficiency.3. To the software listed companies, business model combining with the differentiation strategy shows better fitting effect than that combining with the low cost strategy.
