| Firstly the thesis proposes a model exploring into the causal relationship between the economic efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry and the degree of industry convergence by analysing the factors which impact the economic efficiency and the mechanism of industrial convergence. Then the value of the economic efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry,and that of industrial convergence are estimated by using methods of DEA, SFA, Input-output theory and method.At last, the article emploies Granger causes and consequences and the impulse response function to do an empirical analysis based on the data of Liaoning and other four provinces from the year2001to2011. Conclusion are as follows:There is a causal relationship between the economic efficiency and the industrial convergence reflected in the provinces of Liaoning, Shandong and Zhejiang provinces but not in the Jiangsu and Guangdong provinces. Therefore two other factors-the degree of industrial agglomeration and trade openness-are added into the model to do a better research and get a better conclusion. Moreover, considering the existence of a causal relationship between the degree of industrial agglomeration and the degree of industrial convergence in Jiangsu and of a causal relationship between the degree of trade openness and the degree of industrial convergence in Guangdong, the final conclusion of this article is the existence of a causal relationship between the economic efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry and industrial convergence. Moreover, the economic efficiency of equipment manufacturing industry in Jiangsu province is effected most by the degree of industrial agglomeration and in Guangdong province the degree of trade openness. Accordingly, the government and relevant departments should take consideration of industrial convergence, industrial agglomeration and trade openness when make new relevant policies. |
