Income distribution is a significant problem in comprehensively deepening reform and building a well-off society in an all-round way of our country. Since reform and opening-up, China’s personal income distribution inequity has become increasingly obvious, which is concretely manifested by the widening income gap between different social groups and the rising Gini coefficient crossed the cordon. Narrowing the gap between rich and poor and promoting a fair income distribution to achieve common prosperity are exactly necessary pieces of "Chinese dream", which make contributions to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Income gap can be vertical and horizontal, that is, vertical and horizontal income distribution inequity coexist in a society, the stereo picture of china’s Personal income distribution inequity is constituted by intertwining both vertical and horizontal dimensions of time and space. What this paper focuses is the vertical income distribution inequity problems; we investigate the income distribution of intergenerational inequity in Chinese urban area. In this paper, based on the definition of generational income distribution equity, we analyze concrete performance in various aspects and the impact of intergenerational income distribution inequity, further exploring economy factors, policy factors and social factors in forming intergenerational income distribution inequity and then building the measurement index system of intergenerational income distribution equity of Chinese urban residents through empirical investigation. Finally, we put forward means such as adhering to the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of economy, improving relevant systems, optimizing policy combination to solve Chinese urban residents’ intergenerational income distribution inequity problems.
