Rural migrant workers are new types of work force emerging from the process of China’s reform and opening-up, industrialization and urbanization. The issues of rural migrant workers are related to China’s overall economic and social development. Proper resolutions to the issues are closely related to the fate of Chinese socialist modernization. Therefore, proper resolutions to the issues of rural migrant workers are of great significance. This article focuses on the integration of rural migrant workers into the cities and makes in-depth analyses on the current status of rural migrant workers integrating into the cities. Up to date, Nanning city has made progress in helping rural migrant workers to integrate into the cities. However, it also faces some prominent problems:(1). deeply rooted urban-rural dual structure; (2). lack of organization for the employment of rural migrant workers in the cities; (3) low level of vocational trainings; (4) incompatible public service input and population growth; (5) relatively low overall quality of rural migrant workers; (6) more efforts to be made in promoting rural land transfer; (7) inadequate government administration and transformations of government functions; 8. relatively low pace of industrialization and urbanization.Based on the investigation of the status quo and the cause analyses on existing problems, this article proposes following countermeasures and suggestions to help rural migrant workers better integrate into the cities:(1) to fully understand the significance of promoting the integration of rural migrant workers into cities so as to strengthen the organizational leadership of the work related to rural migrant workers; (2) to promote the reform of household registration system under overall urban and rural planning so as to eliminate the identity barriers for rural migrant workers to integrate into the cities; (3). to enhance the employment service and labor management so as to promote economic integration of rural migrant workers into the cities; (4). to bring the functions of party and youth league organizations, labor unions and communities into full play so as to create favorable conditions for political integration of rural migrant workers. (5). to enlarge the general inclusiveness of public services so as to improve the integration of rural migrant workers into cities in terms of public rights and interests; (6). to strengthen and innovate the social governance and service for rural migrant workers so as to accelerate the integration of social relationships for migrant workers; (7) to establish and improve rural land disposal mechanism so as to create favorable conditions for rural migrant workers to start business in the cities; 8. to accelerate the process of rural industrialization and urbanization so as to fundamentally address the integration of rural migrant workers into cities.
