The Empirical Study On Examples Of The Rural Migrant Workers' City Housing Problems And Human Capital

With the development of urbanization in our country, housing problem of rural migrant workers in the city has attracted more attention of academia and branches of the government. This paper, guided by dualistic structure of urbanization theory and human capital theory, based on human capital situation of rural migrant workers, makes a research on differences of rural migrant workers' behavior of choice about city housing and degree of satisfaction of the policy and measures for improving their housing situation carried out by government.This paper is mainly a quantitative study, which is assisted by a qualitative investigation. The paper reseach some places situated at Changsha, Hunan province. According to the above condition, the writer makes an investigation and gains some findings: first, In the process of urbanization of China, under different human capital situations, degree of the differences of rural migrant workers' behavior of choice about the city housing is relatively higher. Second, under rural migrant workers' existing human capital situation, degree of satisfaction on the policy and measures for improving their city housing situation carried out by government is relatively lower.Through the above findings, the writer analyzes the reasons leading to the emergence of rural migrant workers' city housing problem. Firstly, Because of the dualistic structure, the backwardness of education in country made the human capital of countrymen much lower. Secondly, the migrant workers are short of reasonable treatment, better living and fundamental housing security. Thirdly, the existing repellency of policy and measures carried by government made the lower degree of satisfaction on the policy and measures carried by government.To aim at the present city housing problems of rural migrant workers and the causes, the writer gives some countermeasures and suggestions on the following two aspects: one is the raising of rural migrant workers' human capital and policy of government, the other is expecting to provide some help to solve housing problems of rural migrant workers in the city.
