Nowadays, with the rapid development of mass media,the mode of consumption in tourism activities is also diverse increasingly.They work together and forming a new mode of tourism consumption——The tourism symbol consumption.The first section summarizes some typical material symbols of tourism consumption nowadays in tourism activities. With SLR camera, Fixed Gear bikes, backpack, travel souvenirs four representative items as the breakthrough point,analyzing the symbolic meaning of them in the tourism consumption activities and their symbol value to the tourist.The second section mainly discussed and analyzed the influence of mass media on tourism symbol consumption behavior.Starting from construction of social networking media, advertising, TV on the significance of the symbolic consumption of tourism and the role of propaganda.Interviewing the tourism who have the conception of the tourism symbol consumption and corresponding behavior,to analyze the influence of mass media on the tourist symbol consumption behavior.The third section analyzed the cause of tourism symbol consumption mainly from the angle of Sociology.The research considers that the tourism consumption activities have symbolic tendency not only because of mass media systematically promote relevantly, but also in relation to the tourist consumption psychology, the social environment is concerned,it is the result of many factors interweave generated.The conclusion part gives a dialectical thinking on symbolic consumption of tourism activity phenomenon. The research considers that consumerism in the field of tourism wantonly popular will hinder the healthy development of the tourism market,wantonly popular will hinder the healthy development of the tourism market.But on the other hand, we also should recognize the positive effect:moderate symbol consumption is conductive to stimulate tourism consumption market activity. Of course, it requires the mass media using the right way to make a reasonable guide to the tourism consumption, helping tourists to foster healthy leisure entertainment concept.
