Research On The Development Strategy Of Foshan Europol Port

Foshan Europol port is a small river port which is located in the Pearl River Delta in Shunde waterway of the Xijiang River basin. In 2012, Guangdong Europol Steel Logistics Co., Ltd. take control of the port from the government, the Europol company had upgraded and renamed it to Foshan Europol Port after takeover. At present, the management of Foshan Europol Port is in the initial stage after the transformation. Therefore, research on the development strategy of Europol port is an important subject facing the Europol port development.This thesis is based on the background of the Europol port, through a comprehensive, in-depth investigation and study of port hinterland, the comparison and analysis of data, combined with the port enterprise management knowledge and management of port planning theory, objective analysis of the status of the Europol port, find out the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of Europol port in the development process, analysis of the hinterlands and source types of Europol port, according to the actual situation and the external environment of the Europol port formulated development objectives, development strategy of the Europol port.Firstly, this thesis analyses of the related research results of domestic and foreign experts and scholars on the development of port logistics, with the port logistics theory as the guide, pointing out that China’s current situation and the problems of the development of port logistics.Secondly, according to the present situation of the theory of modern port logistics development and the development of China’s port logistics industry, combined with the basic situation of the Europol port, analyses of the external environment and internal environment of Europol port, using the SWOT model objective evaluation the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of Europol port. The vigorous development of Foshan four big industrial economy has driven the development of port logistics, this thesis focuses on the analysis of the logistics of iron and steel, furniture, ceramics and household appliances.Finally, according to the SWOT strategic combination analysis results put forward the development strategy of the Europol port, analyzes the strategic positioning, the strategic objectives, the strategic focus and the strategic countermeasures. Has a practical guiding significance to sustainable development of the Europol port.
