| The paper is based on both the domestic and foreign asset management experience, using the SWOT management strategy analysis model, analysing the internal and external environment of Bohai Futures Co. Ltd, and aims at finding a suitable way for the development of Bohai futures asset management business.In view of the international market, the operation of futures asset management business mainly relies on futures investment funds. Futures trading has appeared since at least the 17th century, but the first futures investment fund wasn’t issued publicly until 1949 in America. After more than 60 years’ development, especially in the past 2 to 3 decades, global futures investment fund grew rapidly, and America and the Europe were in the leading position. While in view of the domestic market, as The pilot measures of futures companies’asset management business was put into effect officially from Sep. 2012, the asset management business of futures companies began developing in regulatory and healthy way. Futures companies which run the business of customer asset management can learn from the west about how to manage investment funds and securities firms’ experience in asset management business, and explore their own developmental model.In this paper, we made a presentation about the scale of western countries’ futures investment funds, as well as the operation of futures investment funds, meanwhile, we also introduced the asset management situation of domestic securities industry, and we derived some development experience. In addition, after studying the situation of domestic futures companies’ asset management business, we came up with a developmental pattern according to Bohai’s current situation. We determined to issue asset management products on condition of the cooperation with third-party financial institution. At the same time, we would reserve talented people, prepare for the development of asset management business, and carry out our own development strategy towards the business when it is the right time. Finally, we expounded the future development pattern and predicted the details of the asset management business in Bohai Futures Co. Ltd.The paper will be a practical guidance for Bohai Futures Co.
