RCS Company Quality Cost Management Study

With the development of market competition, more and more enterprises pay much attention on quality cost management, to ensure the quality and catch the most profit,. This paper takes one company RCS, which is from non-standard automation machine industry, to study. By literal study and theoretical analysis, I surveyed the current quality cost management status of RCS company, analyzed the root cause, provided respective solutions, and implemented these actions to follow up the effects.Firstly, this paper did systematic study on the development progress of quality cost management, and made analysis on main content as well as related theories of quality cost management. According to the study result of both domestic and overseas, this paper pointed out the improvement opportunity of current quality cost management theory, and gave out viewpoint to implement the best quality cost theory and product life cycle theory in RCS company quality cost management.Secondly, this paper analyzed RCS 2014 quality cost, and found there are 2 main problems existed: high total quality cost and unreasonable quality cost structure. Based on product life cycle theory and the best quality cost theory, using 5why and 8D tools, we analyzed the main problems and focused on the high repair and maintenance cost under external quality cost. The main root cause is the insufficient preventative action and design review at the beginning of project kick-off. So this paper provided the solutions to improve technical & design review as the preventative action, and also develop further application of DFMEA. In addition, it gave out the method to classify customers and then take different actions respectively. Finally, the total quality cost of RCS reduced and its structure optimized, as the actions carried out and took into effects.In the last, this paper made a summary and decided the next research direction.
