With the deepening of marketization, in order to meet various customers diversified demands, manufacturing technology made leap progress, the origin scale mass production method in the traditional manufacturing is not adapt to the dynamic changes in the market demand, companies are turning to multi varieties and small batch production mode, this change creates the unprecedented challenge to the production planning and control of the companies. Based on the multi varieties and small batch production environment, how to implement effective production planning and control has become a hot topic of current research and application in the field of production and operation. This essay selects a typical multi varieties and small batch of medical equipment manufacturing enterprises P-company as the research object, focus on the improvement to the production planning and control system and analysis details of the process to optimize output.This essay collect and analyses on the related information data of the P-company’s multi varieties and small batch production mode, figure out the typical features of the products and analysis on the current problems of the process, focus on the production planning area and point out the existing area which need improvement. With the help of learning on the theory advanced production planning and control research, such as manufacturing resource planning(MRP II), just in time production system(JIT) and theory of constraints(TOC), This essay provides some improvement strategies and implementation method to the P-company production planning and control in the process. The improved method applied to the policy includes demand forecasting rough capacity method, calculation method, scheduling method, ABC material management method. Besides with some more methods like training, redefine the planning process to make some progress on the improvements as following: on time delivery rate increased 5%~10%, inventory turnover rate increased more than 30%, inventory stock level controlled well on a certain level. The research results of this paper show that, a variety of production planning and control system optimization combination application and production planning and control process of continuous improvement, can effectively improve the multi varieties and small batch production mode of manufacturing industry operational performance such as on time delivery rate, turnover rate of stock etc..On above of the former improvements, this essay also made research on the P-company production plan production process lean improvement, optimization of inventory management and several cases of SAP data management, optimizes the enterprise production management target. To reduce the cost, improve customer satisfaction, enhance the enterprise the competitive ability the goal, has made the beneficial exploration for production planning optimization in manufacturing enterprises for the production capacity.
