Analysis Of The Developing Level And Potential Of Hebei Inland Ports

With the continuous development of economic globalization, the development of coastal ports and inland cities around the world and objective needs from container multimodal transport jointly push forward the development of inland ports. Inland ports, as an important node of transportation network in inland areas, play an important role in developing regional economy.Under the background of rapidly developing and opening international economy, there are more and more transactions between different countries all over the world. Foreign trade is rising in quantity year by year, making modern ports becoming a link of supply chain.Therefore, it is worthy studying to find the next high-efficient link so as to make sure of keeping the whole supply chain smooth. Moreover, with increasing ports, competitions among ports are more and more fierce. So to achieve wider economic hinterlands and source of goods is becoming a very important subject in the agenda of port operators. The function of inland ports directly affects the smoothness of the whole supply chain and further has an effect on the function and competition capacity of coastal ports.Since China set about constructing inland ports in 2002, inland ports are developing rapidly and scaling up day by day. With the rapid development of ports and improving infrastructure in China, competitions among ports is extending from pursuing scale rank to capturing hinterland. Therefore, the development of inland ports will become a important symbol that whether ports in China can win advantages in the competition process.In recent years, Hebei province are keeping accelerating development of inland ports so as to satisfy the demand of economic development. At present, Hebei province has put many inland ports into use and are still constructing and improving more inland ports.Among these ports, the inland port in Shijiazhuang city is the first inland port, jointly invested by both Tianjin and Shijiazhuang. The cooperation between the two cities integrates Tianjin port with Shijiazhuang inland port so as to achieve mutual complementarity and win-win. Besides, inland ports in Xingtai, Handan and Hengshui have already been put into construction and improvement. Nevertheless,compared to other province,the construction levels of inland port in Hebei province is far lower.Firstly, the article analyzes the background of the subject and related literatures both at home and abroad in detail,so as to provide practical and theoretical foundations for spreading out the thesis.Secondly,the article concludes successful experience of developing inland ports by analyzing the current developing status of inland ports at home and abroad.At the same time, the article states relative theories about inland ports and distinguishes the concept of inland ports from other related concepts, in order to have a better understanding of inland ports to lay a foundation for subsequent analysis.Thirdly, the article carries out PEST analysis on the development of inland ports,according to the current situation and plans of inland ports in Hebei province.Also, it analyzes the developing potential of inland ports in Hebei province by combining AHP methods with Fuzzy Synthetic Evaluation Model. Then it builds the evaluation index system of the development level and analyzes the relative results obtained.In the end, uniting analysis results of examples with real issues, the article puts forward specific suggestions for the future development of inland ports so as to make a contribution to the development of inland ports in Hebei province.
